3 Ways to Stay Green During Home Renovations

Sustainability is central for Percy John Flooring and to how we conduct our business. Not only is our responsibility to ensure that the things we do as a company are sustainable and ethical, but we want to promote sustainable living to our customers and our community. It all starts with the little things, changing some aspects of our modern day living including home renovating and decorating ideas. Here are three ways to be environmentally conscious during your home renovations this summer!

1.Stay Local

Supporting your local flooring or hardware store is not only for your convenience, but it reduces the number of pollution emissions during transports. Choosing and purchasing from your local stores also helps your local economy.

2.Choosing Products Wisely

Keep longevity in mind when deciding on what types of products or materials to buy. This not only saves you money but also reduces overall waste and materials for replacements. Always keep the 3 R’s in mind: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. If it’s possible to reuse a product, do it!

3.Save Energy

When selecting light bulbs for living room or other appliances, consider low-energy options. Besides using more power, traditional light bulbs produce energy in the form of heat that heats up the areas around it. Choose energy-efficient bulbs such as LEDs or halogen incandescent bulbs the next time you need a replacement.
